Mexico Auto Desk
Strategic relationships for smooth operations in and out of Mexico
As more and more auto suppliers expand and operate in Mexico, they need seasoned automotive counsel to help mitigate risks and maximize opportunities.
Our strategic relationships with key industry players in Mexico go all the way to the top — with former president Mr. Vincente Fox Quesada, speaking at an event we have co-hosted with the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA. And one of our Frost Brown Todd attorneys is the former chairman and president of the Mexico Law Institute. An office in Texas allows us to be even more responsive to clients near the border.
Connections alone aren’t enough. Our attorneys have in-depth knowledge of the industry, the culture and the differences between the production part approval process (PPAP), and can quickly and effectively navigate a host of legal matters.
Helping clients take advantage of trade agreements
Our team includes attorneys with a broad range of knowledge in helping clients take advantage of trade agreements to eliminate or minimize duties.
- North American Fair Trade Agreement (NAFTA) - We can work seamlessly with attorneys in Mexico and Canada to work out any issues that may disrupt production and movement of goods throughout all of North America.
Industria Manufacturera, Maquiladora y de Servicios de Exportación (IMMEX) - We have worked with Mexican counsel on establishing and IMMEX programs, where companies manufacturing in Mexico and exporting receive an incentive from the Mexican government.
- Sectoral Promotional Program (PROSEC) - We help companies take advantage of PROSEC to reduce or possibly eliminate import duties for goods and materials that are imported temporarily or definitively depending on the industry or services they provide.
