Heather L. Wilson
Heather has a broad range of experience working in the automotive industry on labor and employment matters. As a member of the Firm’s labor and employment practice group, Heather concentrates in employment litigation and general business counseling. Heather is a member of the Firm’s Automotive Industry Team and has experience working with companies such as Ford, General Motors and Honda. These relationships provide her with a culture-based experience that allows her to assertively and effectively represent her clients.
- Represents OEMs and suppliers in federal and state court involving claims under Title VII, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and wage and hour issues. This representation also includes proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state and local human rights commissions.
Advice and Counsel
- As part of her litigation avoidance role, Heather provides general workforce advice to automotive clients on issues involving rotating shifts, temporary workers, joint employment, management of employee leave, hiring, disciplining, and termination.
Protecting Information and Privacy
- Routinely works with OEMs and suppliers in drafting and enforcing confidentiality policies, joint development agreements and restrictive covenants to ensure trade secret and proprietary information is protected.
