John S. Wagster
John specializes in helping multinational companies forge cross-cultural contractual arrangements around the world, using industry best practices and western-style contracts. John has particular experience in technology law, which he uses on behalf of OEMs and suppliers to help them maximize the return on their technology spend while protecting their technology assets. He has also assisted with outsourcing strategies and partner due diligence for dozens of companies across the U.S., Europe and Asia. John has previously served as inside and outside counsel to technology companies in Silicon Valley and China and also served as the staff director of a subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs in Washington, D.C.
Assists U.S. and foreign companies with the selection of and due diligence on strategic technology vendors and resellers.
Provides strategic and legal advice to OEMs and vendors establishing cross-border relationships between the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China.
Negotiated the largest (at the time) U.S.-to-China technology outsourcing deal with a total contract value of $270 million.
Negotiated a U.S./Switzerland/China technology outsourcing deal that won the Forbes Magazine/Everest Group Outsourcing Excellence Award for Europe.
