Matt has served clients' patent, trademark, software and related transactional legal needs for nearly 20 years, helping them make the most out of their technology and what makes their businesses unique. He helps clients patent their inventions, register their trademarks and protect their trade secrets. He drafts and negotiates licenses of patent rights, trade secrets, software know-how and other technology rights up and down the supply chain to enable clients to monetize and leverage their innovations and creativity, as well as those of others. Patent and Trademark Portfolio Management
- Manages patent and trademark portfolios for a passenger safety supplier, working with management to clear new brands, prepare patent applications on new inventions, and negotiate technology licenses.
- Write and prosecute (that is, shepherd through patent offices in the U.S. and other countries) patent applications on engine control systems, telematics, racecar safety control systems, alternators, cell phone-vehicle connections and a small supplier's unique solution to an ignition system wear problem.
- Advise clients with inventions related to mobile apps and ad platforms and fuel management.
